How we collect, use, and protect your business's information.
MyShopfront is operated by [YOUR NAME], trading as MyShopfront, a sole trader based at [BUSINESS ADDRESS]. You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@myshopfront.co.uk.
Free preview. When you request a free preview through our website, we collect the business name, address, category, and email address you submit. We also gather publicly available information about your business from what's already out there: photos, opening hours, menu or services, and reviews, to build your homepage preview.
Going live. If you decide to go live, we collect anything you submit for the rest of the site: which pages you need, your preferred domain, any files you upload (photos, logo, menu, price list), and notes about what else you'd like changed. We also process payment details to set up your monthly subscription, and, if we register a domain for you, your annual renewal payment. We don't store your card details ourselves, this is handled by Stripe.
Contact form. If you get in touch through our contact page, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit.
Automatically. Our hosting provider (Netlify) processes standard technical data (such as IP address and browser information) needed to serve our website and handle form submissions. We also load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to serve the correct font files.
We use your information to build and send you your free preview, to build and maintain your live website if you go live, to process payment for the monthly subscription, to respond to questions you send us, and to contact you about your account (for example, if we need to check a detail before your site goes live).
We share information with the third parties that help us run the service: Netlify (hosting and form handling) and Stripe (payment processing). We don't sell your personal data to anyone, and we don't share it for third-party marketing.
We keep your information for as long as your site is live with us, and for 6 years afterwards, in line with HMRC's record-keeping requirements for sole traders and the standard limitation period for contract claims in England and Wales. If you only ever requested a free preview and didn't go live, or got in touch through our contact form, we keep that information for 12 months.
